Noah knows. He knows there is no Santa. Here's the conversation;
Noah: "Is Santa real?"
Me: "What do you mean?"
Noah: "My friends say he's not." (clearly ignoring my question asked for stalling purposes). "They say it's your mom and dad that put presents under the tree Christmas night."
( I have no idea what to say because I am freaking out as Connor sits listening and I don't even want to put this idea into his head.)
Me: "So, you believe your friends?"
Noah: "Well, yeah. They wouldn't lie to me."
(But apparently his parents would)
I guess it was bound to happen. He is 10. I have no idea if this is a normal age to shatter his dreams of men in suits, bunnies, fairies, and the like... but it's happened. That's what friends are for, right?
Am I sad? I don't know. It seems like a normal course of life.
Just another indicator that life keeps moving 100 miles and hour, and that's what I am more sad about.

WHAT?!?! Oh no. I am sad. I wonder how long before I get asked the same question. Did you have to threaten him not to tell Conner?
In a way it would be nice if the girls knew...then I could explain to them why they can't get everything under the sun and why Santa is on a budget.
I am sure you handled the whole thing very well!
I know, there are benefits to him knowing. Like getting some credit for the big gifts instead of Santa! hahahaha!
I did tell him not to wreck it for Connor. He wouldn't do that. It's kind of why I had to be honest with him, so he would stop going on and on about what his friends keep saying.
However, when he keeps bringing it up (he'll say things like, "I can't believe you bought all that stuff all these years") I keep telling him he has to believe in order to receive!
Boy do I remember the day that Kayla asked me the same question. All I said was if you don't believe you will never get another present from Santa. To this day they (Jarrod got the same talk) still get a present from Santa.....
Michaela figured it out last year...the year she turned 10 as well. It has been so fun now though with Samuel being 3 and having Michaela and Alesha in on all the fun!
This makes me sad even thinking about it! ;) However, i'm sure there are some benefits.....;)
Oh no!
I'm glad that he will keep it a secret from Connor. I still remember the day I found out as a kid - I had been questioning my mom for a while and she kept saying Santa was real - then she accidentally blew it one day!
