A Little Light Snow

We got a bunch of snow on Saturday. I have no idea how much, but it seemed to snow all day long. Mike commented that it felt like it stopped for maybe an hour.

The yard was left covered in a fresh layer of undisturbed white.

When I got home from work today I happened to glance outside in the back yard.

Seeing this can be quite exciting, and kinda freaky at the same time.

Exciting because I am so curious to see what made this little trail! Is it a rabbit? Maybe a squirrel? Are squirrels out and about in the winter, or do they hibernate? Maybe it’s the tracks of a dog? But, whose dog? No one’s dog wanders our yard. Could it be a mouse? Cause that is gross. I hope it’s not a rodent.

Then I start to creep myself out. I don’t want some foreign animal wandering around my yard. Worse yet…..those tracks lead right under the patio steps. Ewwww! Is it still under there? Because I stood on those steps to take these pictures.

Hmmm….maybe a closer look.

It’s a cat’s print, isn’t it? Do you know how much cats freak me out? Have I mentioned my neighbors plow a path in the snow around their house so their cat can roam around, even in the winter? It visits the cat across the street. Who does that? Who plows a cat it’s own path in the snow? Have I mentioned I have thrown my own children in front of me to protect me from cats? It’s true, once in a park and once coming down my street after a walk. I can’t stand cats. They are sneaky, they claw at you, they hiss at you…..they do all kinds of things that if I dog did it, you would get rid of it. Seriously, if a dog swatted at you and growled at you, you would get rid of it. Not cats though…..people think it’s funny. Yeah, well, not so much.

And I think those are cat prints going right under the steps of my patio.

Nasty.

Please tell me it can be another animal.

As a side note, Noah started gun training last week. It’s a huge commitment, as it should be. Mike goes with him for the 3 hour sessions at Cabelas and he comes home with homework. This week he had 52 pages to read. GULP!

Here’s where I caught Mike and Noah last night after Noah’s shower…..

Apparently he needed a little help from dad on his homework. Cute, huh? Someday Mike will just turn and smile when a camera is pointed at him and then we will have nice pictures of the father and son. Instead he looked up, looked back down at the book, and ignored me. Nice.

Off to see a doctor about my vertigo tomorrow. Nervous about it. Trying not to be. Not working.

Happy Monday,

LB
