Pinterest is now my new obsession. I love it. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a website where people post all kinds of things. They’ll post recipes, fun crafts, cool clothing, amazing furniture, funny quotes, inspirational things, and much more.
I like to click on the “everything” tab and just check out every little thing. I even discovered the videos tab the other day. There aren’t as many things in that section, but still fun stuff.
You save the things you like by creating boards, kind-of like categories. I have categories for recipes, Halloween, photo edits, things I like, and school. When I find cool things, I post under the appropriate category and anytime I want to go back to it, I just click on it and it takes me to that site!
I have tried a couple of recipes. One was Italian beef sandwiches with provolone cheese melted on top. It was very good! I also made some cake mix rice crispy bars which were tasty. I recently found a recipe for taco seasoning. I hate the taco seasoning you buy in those packets so I am anxious to try it out.
I have also been crafting! If you know me, you know this is incredible. I DO NOT craft and I am not creative. It’s why I teach 6th and not primary.
One thing I threw together after school were these little numbers…….
They were real complicated…carve out a pumpkin and throw a mum inside! THIS is what I love about Pinterest…so many times I see things on this site and think, “Why didn’t I think of that?” I made three of these for my front steps.
This year my district started a new “healthy habits” program K-12. One of the habits is to “Put First Things First” and focus on the BIG ROCKS before the little rocks. I made these for my coworkers…..
I made larger versions for them and told them to think of how much I love them the next time they get stressed!
Lastly (and I know you are reading this sockless as I have knocked them off your feet with my craftiness…..) I made these for the family,
They are coasters! I hated what we were using so when I saw these (made with tiles and scrapbooking paper) I thought I would give it a shot.
I don’t like matchy-matchy so I decided to use the same tones but different paper.
I also did THIS with my class this year. It’s meant to be for weddings, but I thought it would send a message of family to the 32 little cherubs I have this year. I framed it and it hangs front and center in our classroom.
I encourage you to check out Pinterest. It’s a nice “getaway” when you need a few minutes to veg out.
Peace,
LB

So is this website just like book marking sites???
The socks are off and I am manually closing my gaping open mouth! :) Totally impressed but I always have known you have an artisitic flare .. . Your projects look great. I'll have to borrow the mums in the pumpkins idea for next year!
