Another successful season of baseball is in the books for Connor.
It was his first year of machine-pitch. Surprisingly, the game goes quickly when every pitch is a strike! I think he got up to bat at least a dozen times every game.
Connor thinks nothing of diving for a catch or leaping for a ball. And luckily doesn't take it too seriously when he misses.....
He played in some HOT weather this year. July was brutal. Someone needs to come up with a new uniform for boys baseball......you know, something not made of polyester and involving multiple layers (under those lovely pants are full length THICK polyester socks).
He's excited to start REAL baseball. Baseball that involves three outs, kids pitching, and stealing bases.
I am not sure Connor has a favorite position yet. He tends to run to an infield position when given a choice, but he's great at judging a ball too.
Soon both boys will be traveling for baseball. I think I will enjoy two more years of this one being little, even though he doesn't look so little....

As a side note...I went flower shopping back in May when my BFF was in town. I took a Monday off from work and enjoyed a nice "friend" day. She helped me pick out my flowers for my pots. I think she did a great job.......
Even with this incredible heat, they have done great all summer. I even cut them back as they were getting so huge and they grew back thicker and with more blooms, every one of them. The purplish-white ones in the center are called Nemsia. Here is a close-up taken from the Internet....

It smells like lilacs! And because it's right outside my front door... the smell wafts into my living room while I sit in my recliner. It's amazing. I will buy this every year, and it will always remind me of my sweet friend.
Happy Last Days of Summer.....

Your pots always look so beautiful! Mine look so haggard and dried out by this time of the year. You have a special touch, my friend. :) I will try that flower again next year but put it in a different spot. Nothing beats that lovely smell.
Miss you!
Tammy
Maybe we should invent ball uniforms...then we could get rich and retire! Love the flowers......keep on watering!
