So Long Basketball 2012-13

We spent the weekend way up north for state basketball for Noah. His team was seated 16 out of 16 teams in his division. That means as the last team, you play the #1 team, which happened to be Blaine.

Turns out we beat Blaine. Ha!
Thanks to another parent for these pictures.
How is it possible to forget your camera as much as I do?

The second game was the biggest heart breaker ever. There was only one referee. The poor man could not run back and forth fast enough to see and make the calls, so he made a few mistakes. Normally, it's not that huge of a deal, but we went into overtime and lost by 2 points so those mistakes mattered. Noah hit both his free-throws to take us into overtime though so it made this mama's heart proud! I had to go around to the other side of the partition while he shot them though, it was just too much.

The boys then had to play a late game at 7:40 and they lost that one by 2 also.

They played SO HARD  (for the record Noah fouled out of two of the three games. Aggressive much?) and deserved to win, but sometimes it's just not in the cards.

The whole team stayed at the hotel and it was a great time hanging out with everyone. One of the dad's put together a slide show of pics from the season and it's hilarious to see what happens to faces when playing this game.

Both boys are now done with basketball. We got so lucky this year and really loved both teams of boys and their parents. You end up spending a ton of time with these people, so it's such a bonus when there is no one annoying around to wreck it.

This is my first week of not running kids in the evenings during the week. I vowed to start packing for Florida with all my extra time. We got a ton of shopping done for the men in this house (I will be saving my shopping until I can do it with my friends, thank you) because we were right near an outlet mall all weekend.

We have two weeks until baseball try-outs. No idea when actual practices start. I am hoping we get at least a month. It's like we have a life back and I intend to take full advantage of my free weekends starting with this Friday with a girl's dinner with my high school friends.

Hope your March is going well.
Peace out,
LB
