My mom

I had conferences yesterday, last night, and tonight at my school. It always makes for a long day/night with me getting home at around 7:45 at night, seeing my kids for 15 minutes before putting them to bed, and starting job #2 of getting clothes and lunches ready for school the next day. My mom stayed with the boys on Monday. They did not have school because the elementary buildings had conferences as well. She got here bright and early in the morning (and she is not a morning person), and spent the day being my mom. She did my laundry. Now, when I say did I mean she washed it, dried it, folded it meticulously, and put most of it away (a few items she wasn't sure about). She even washed and remade Noah's sheets for his bed. She made all the beds. (Yes, I confess I don't make them most days) and fluffed all the pillows. The sheets have never laid as nicely and evenly. I hated to even mess them up to go to bed. (But I did, trust me) She picked up my house and I swear everything looks cleaner, even though she couldn't have had time to clean it. She took the kids sledding, and even though there was one minor mishap.... ....the kids had a blast. She made a spaghetti dinner here at our house so Mike didn't have to make supper when he got home from work. And to top it all off....she sat at our house today for the THREE hour span of time the furniture store gives you when they are delivering furniture. Her exact words to me, "I will arrange things for you." I didn't doubt it for one second, mom. I have the best mom. Seriously, I don't know how people do it without their moms. She helps me SOO much and goes above and beyond. She didn't have to do all those extra things for me, but she did. And I love her for it! I wish she could come everyday. My mom and I spend time without the kids too. We shop, have coffee, see movies. She's fun and always willing to go and do whatever. It's the one thing I will miss not having a daughter....having an older daughter to hang with. I love you mom! Thanks for being there for my family. This week, and every week! Here is our new furniture: For the record, My mother-in-law is FABULOUS as well. Her post coming soon. I am so lucky!

What happened to Conner? Does he feel as bad as it looks? Poor thing.

Your furniture looks WONDERFUL! Are you happy with it? Is your custom chair done yet?

I didn't guess you as one who doesn't make beds everyday. I am shocked! One more reason why I love you so! ;)

You are so lucky to be so close to your mom and that she is able to do things for/with you. I know you appreciate her and everything she does which I think is fabulous. So many people take advantage of their parents and the parents never hear Thank you from the "kids".

You are an awesome person!

Grandma is the best ever!! I wish I lived closer so I could visit more!! I hope she knows how much we appreciate her...and grandpa!

Connor's face looks horrible!! I am sure it didn't phase him too much because he is one tough boy!

I really love the new furniture! If I could buy new furniture right now, that is what I would pick! Good choice :)

I love and miss you all lots!! Can't wait to come home and visit!

Nice job on the furniture. Glad to hear Nancy was there to arrange it for you . . :)

Poor Connor. I wish I was there so he could tell me the story of how it happened.

Put your feet up and relax this weekend! Love you!

Poor Connor just fell off the sled and scraped his face along the hard packed snow. He basically rode his face like a sled.....

It looked much worse on day one. It was all swollen like a grapefruit. One day later, when I took the photo, it was much better.

Now it's just itchy and he's picking at it. Ugh.

Yay on your mom! You really have lucked out on the family dept girl! An awesome mom and MIL...no wonder you're so happy in life :)

LOVE the new furniture. I want it! And poor Conner - did he like telling people how he got it? Did he do the whole, "you should have seen how bad the sled hill looks"? :)
