Furteen Years Old

Noah is old. Really old. That makes me ancient, and ya know what? That's okay.

THIRTEEN. How did that happen?

I swear I pay attention. I am involved with him (like when I had to help him with Religious Education homework this week and it was all about how it's okay to have relations with your servants to conceive a child. Um, what?!). I listen to him, do stuff with him, and respond to his needs. And to repay me he changed from this.......

To this....

I guess I am supposed to sit back and accept that he's getting older and moving into TEEN territory. Ugh, I am not ready for that. So, I made him sit on my lap, I make his hug me all the time, and I make him tell me stuff he probably doesn't want to talk with his mom about.

13 things about Noah:

1. He has a girlfriend. Yup, started last year with this stuff.  How does one get used to that and consider it normal. Get back to me with an answer to that one, will ya?

2. He is in football for the second year in a row and has scored five touchdowns in the last three games. Gulp. How does one get used to seeing their kid tackeled and trampled? Get back to me on that one too.

3. Godfather's is his favorite and McDonalds as well. Good thing he is as skinny as a rail. I say enjoy the junk food as long as you can. (I can say that because he is such a good eater and eats lots of healthy things too. If he didn't, I probably wouldn't like his favorite restaurant choices.)

4. Still plays baseball and basketball. This mama likes those non-contact sports better.

5. Is doing awesome at the Jr. High. I can check his grades whenever I want and it's straight A's so far with NO help from us.

6. Moved downstairs to the huge bedroom and it's like his own pad down there. He loves it.

7. Got braces for the second time before school started. Poor boy just wants to eat an apple like a normal person.

8. Spends lots of time playing Minecraft and NFL 2013.

9. Got a NICE basketball hoop for his birthday present.

10. Did not have a birthday party for the first time.....hence the extra money to buy a nice hoop. (Man, those things are expensive!)

11. Still aspires to be a pro-baseball player.

12. Is kind and sweet. Just got a phone call from a friend telling me so. I hear it all the time. Proudest thing anyone can ever say to me about my kids.

13. Is forever my wee one.

I love you Noah Michael Budach.

Thank you for making me proud and being mine!

Love,
Mom

So sweet.....it does seem like yesterday he was the baby in the car seat! They do grow up fast and you wonder how they got older and you didn't!

I love that you share these things about your boys. Makes me feel like I know them. What a beautiful baby he was. And now he is such a handsome teen. And really...with having braces twice...he should always be handsome OR at least have a handsome smile. Poor apple-less kid. :)
