This MEA, my mom and I left my boys at home and headed East! My niece Devon and her husband Justin had their first baby. I am a great aunt to little Kamden Hardel.
Quite honestly, he is the most gorgeous baby boy I have ever seen! Just amazes me how sweet he is.
It was so nice to hang with my family and not have to worry about entertaining the boys. I know it might sound selfish, but I really didn't miss them until I was on my way home! I knew they were safe at home with their dad who took 2 days off to be with them. Noah went and slept at a friend's house and enjoyed watching the Huskies win our division in football. Connor had a friend ovenight at our house and enjoyed a night of Minecraft. I am pretty sure they didn't miss me much!
We spent Saturday shopping and eating a yummy lunch with my sister Carrie, Devon, GG, and Kamden. Kamden slept the whole time and was an angel. I got to ride in the back and stare at him. What's more enjoyable than that?
Mom and I got adjoining rooms at the hotel and it was quiet and peaceful. No finding time to fit swimming in, no being kicked in the night, no waiting for the boys to wake up to go down for breakfast. It was really enjoyable to just worry about me! Devon made a great supper Saturday night and I enjoyed a glass of wine and just hung out.
This is my sister's only child's first baby. I am so excited for Kamden to make memories with his Granny! She's is going to make an amazing grandma. Kamden is one lucky little boy. I picture lots of laughs and memories being made.
My mom turned 70 the day we left. I think this little one might just be the best present she's ever had. She was a proud GG and I love this picture of him holding her finger. He certainly was a content little boy while she held him.
Time went quickly, but I was so glad we made the treck over to see him. It is wonderful to know this sweet thing is part of our lives forever. I can't wait to spoil him at Christmas! It will certainly make the holidays more special. With Connor being the youngest at 9, you forget how different special occasions are with a wee one around.
Welcome Kamden Bud Hardel! We love you very much!
